bdecent Design Package License
Last updated 21 October 2026
Approved by bdecent on 2026-10-21. Applies to paid design packages from the bdecent Design Studio.
Version 1.0 · bdecent GmbH, Franz-Obermayer-Str. 8, 83607 Holzkirchen, Germany
1. What you get
With the purchase of a design package, bdecent GmbH (“bdecent”) grants you (“Licensee”) a non-exclusive, non-transferable, perpetual licence to use the files contained in the package (images, animations, backgrounds, icons, course backups and other assets, together the “Assets”) under the terms below. The licence takes effect once the purchase price has been paid.
2. Where you may use the Assets
- On all Moodle sites operated by or for your organisation (e.g. company, university, school, public body), including test, staging and demo sites.
- In courses, dashboards and other learning content on these sites, also when they are accessed by external learners, customers or partners of your organisation.
- In screenshots, presentations and internal documentation that show your learning platform.
If you run Moodle sites for clients (e.g. as an agency or hosting provider), each client organisation needs its own licence.
3. What you may do
- Modify the Assets: change colours, crop, resize, combine them with your own content, translate texts in images.
- Make copies as needed for the permitted use and for backups.
4. What you may not do
- Sell, rent, sublicense, share or otherwise make the Assets available to third parties as files – neither unchanged nor modified, neither alone nor as part of a template, theme, design package, course package or plugin.
- Publish the Assets for download (e.g. in public repositories, marketplaces or file-sharing services).
- Use the Assets to create competing design packages or products.
- Remove copyright notices contained in the files.
Courses that you export from your Moodle site and share within your organisation may contain the Assets.
5. AI-generated content
Some packages are created with AI-generated base images; this is stated on the product page. bdecent selects, edits and assembles these images. Depending on the jurisdiction, AI-generated parts may not be protected by copyright; the contractual restrictions of this licence apply regardless.
6. Ownership
All rights not expressly granted remain with bdecent. Attribution is not required.
7. Warranty and liability
The Assets are provided as described on the product page. Warranty and liability are governed by the bdecent General Terms and Conditions.
8. Termination
If you breach this licence, it ends automatically. You must then stop using the Assets and delete all copies.
9. Applicable law
German law applies. Place of jurisdiction for merchants is Holzkirchen/Munich, Germany, as far as legally permitted.
