Kickstart adds a course template engine to Moodle. Building courses based on templates makes course creation easier and faster: all important settings are already preset, and centrally managed templates ensure consistency, brand conformity and quality without additional effort.
The Pro version adds unlimited templates and simplifies importing content from other courses. Access to templates can be granted per cohort, category, role or individual user — useful for larger organizations with different course types. Kickstart also provides instructions for teachers and students and a welcoming fallback page for empty courses.

Reviewing it
Data protection & hosting
Your data stays in your Moodle. Kickstart runs entirely inside your Moodle site and stores its data in your Moodle database and file storage, on your own server. bdecent does not run a cloud service for it, and the plugin never contacts bdecent: no licence checks, no telemetry, no usage tracking. Access is controlled by Moodle roles and capabilities, so only the people you authorise can see or change it. Kickstart stores no personal data (declared through Moodle's Privacy API). Kickstart carries Moodle's Privacy friendly award.
Accessibility & license
Kickstart is built with Moodle's own template system and the Bootstrap components of Moodle's standard theme Boost, so it follows your theme's colours and fonts. We have not published a formal WCAG audit yet — if something gets in your way, tell us and we will fix it. Released under GPLv3, like Moodle itself.
