Skills 1.3 makes progress easier to read for learners and gives organisations a new way to steer skill development. Learners get a redesigned Skills section on their profile, and with the new skill targets you set goals per cohort – with deadlines and progress for every member.
A redesigned Skills section on the profile
Each skill shows the current level in its colour and image, the points earned out of the total, and a breakdown by course.
You decide what learners see
Show skills with their courses and activities, the totals only, or hide the section completely.
Colours and images
Give skills and levels a colour, and each level its own image.
Points only
A skill can now work without levels and simply collect points.
Skill targets
Set targets per cohort with fixed or relative deadlines. Progress is recorded for every member, learners see their targets on their profile, and a report builder source shows where everyone stands.
Decay, now stable
Durations follow the calendar – days, weeks, months and years in the learner’s time zone –, rules can have a name, and learners see upcoming decay on their profile.
Activity skills and reports
Activity skills now also deduct points with negative values and work with Moodle 5.3’s navigation. Reports have fixed activity columns; the Dash widgets are now called Level visuals and Progress.
One paid plan
Skills Pro now includes everything that was part of Skills Premium – Dash widgets and learning paths by skill level included – at one price.
Small improvements
The navigation entry is now called “Skills”, course skill lists are always sorted the same way, and the users’ points report works again.
Moodle 4.5 to 5.3
Skills 1.3 supports Moodle 4.5, 5.0, 5.1, 5.2 and 5.3.
